“Cheval Blanc” in St Tropez voted “Best hotel in the world”

Hotel "Cheval Blanc" overlooking the beach Bouillabaisse and the village of St Tropez was voted the best hotel in the world of 2022, ahead of Hotel La Mamounia which was the previous winner in 2021. This ranking was established by the magazine Conde Nast Traveller from a very large survey. 

After a renovation by LVMH (Dior), the hotel reopened in 2019, the 30 rooms soberly decorated in a new elegant white and blue azure soothing style, showcases the very best of 21st century interior design and provencal art. All the codes of luxury are present, with a kind and welcoming team dedicated to make travellers feel at home with that unique Mediterranean spirit.

The hotel was originally built in 1936 under the name “Residence of La Pinède” in a strategic location at the entrance of the town and is the only hotel in St Tropez positioned directly on the seafront.

The chef Arnaud Donckele manages “La Vague d’Or”, the hotel’s restaurant in St Tropez, that is rated with three Michelin stars and 19/20 in the Gault & Millau guide for its exquisite vegetable and fish dishes.

In the top 10 of Conde Nast Traveller’s list of the hotels is another classic and well known hotel on the French Riviera, Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc on the Cap d’Antibes. It was opened as a grand hotel in 1870, and has kept that old world charm, but also benefits from a huge heated saltwater pool as well as superb views over the sea and its rose gardens.
